Term 1
Best Photo
Below are my one of the best photos I took from previous years. I put the same picture a couple of times to show what the steps where to get from the regular picture to the filter picture. Then I have one picture to compare before. The other picture is a path from Coggeshell Farm in Rhode Island.
I couldn't decide between two well-done photos. I asked my friends and parents which one was better and they couldn't choose either. The runner up is my black lab named Bentley. It was taken during Blizzard Nemo last year. He is at the backdoor outside wanting to come in from the snow. He is a focal point because the photo is black vs. white. He has some snow on his head/nose and that helps move your eyes through the picture. I also filtered it. The 2nd picture I chose was taken during Freshmen year in art foundations class. It is a long pathway and there are trees that look similar on both sides. They make the picture balance. It also shows line. There is also a stone wall behind on each side too. It is very peaceful with the nature.
Black versus white, strong focal point, and filters make my dog photo very strong. Balance, cool colors (greens/yellows), angles of the path/trees, and nature make the farm picture strong as well.
Coggeshell Farm photo is very well-done. It was the best picture I took on the trip. I always get positive feedback/comments from it. I am very proud of this. I also love my dog photo because it is simple, but my dog is very detailed when in all the snow. My dog stands out, which makes you look at him first then everything around him.
I really don't think I would want to change my photos. I try to think about the techniques/skills I used when I took these photos when taking new pictures.

I chose the word journey because the picture shows a pathway with no end. Journey is defined as a distance, course, or area traveled or suitable for traveling.
